Annadana Seed Catalogue 2020 -2021
We are most delighted to share yet another milestone conservation achievement. We have revived 62 heritage/OP varieties this year. Apart from our regular produce, the hard-to find diversity, we share our all time favorite multi-colored tomatoes which are most aromatic, delicious and nutritional. A diverse range for your daily kitchen needs - from varieties from greens, lettuces capsicums, cucurbits, okra, corn, brinjal, beans, watermelon, gourds heirloom vegetable seeds & pollinator friendly flower seeds. Exotic varieties like Black carrots, to high yielding indigenous brinjal, chilli varieties from Kerala, Malnad, North East to capsicum varieties, corn, sunflowers and more adorn our fields.
Our commune of farmers, master trainers at Annadana, Bangalore and Annadana, Western Ghats are to be credited for this. They drive our field operations with such commitment and care. Our enterprising farmer youth never cease to amaze us by nurturing these time honoured, indigenous seasonal seeds which are NON- hybrid and NON- GMO. Our efforts to conserve traditional naati/desi crops continues to support marginal farmers in flood & drought zones across India.
We are often asked on how we have procured these seeds. Some of the exotic varieties have been inherited from Auroville, some from participating in seed exchange fairs from across India, some gathered in our seed mapping projects in North East and Western Ghats, some donated from well wishers who realise the threat to these pure line seeds.
Being seed conservers and not a seed corporation, we do not produce nor supply large seed quantities. To subscribe to our diversity, please send in your request to seedsavers@annadana-india.org and details will be sent based on availability.
This is not a commercial venture. Your contributions go towards sustaining the arduous efforts deployed by empowered farmers to revive this dying skill and also continue educating their youth.
